WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked the scheduled execution today of a Louisiana man convicted of murdering five people in 1982.
The high court granted an emergency request to spare Leslie Lowenfield's life until the justices study a formal appeal filed in his behalf.
