Microsemi Corp. of Santa Ana said it has agreed to acquire for $2.2-million cash the operating assets of Hybrid Components Inc., a Massachusetts technology firm currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
Hybrid specializes in processing, packaging, testing and screening semiconductor products for military and aerospace applications. The company has 70 employees at its plant in Beverly, Mass.
Microsemi Chairman Philip Frey Jr. said Hybrid will be operated as a subsidiary under the supervision of its current president, Maurice Desruisseau.
The purchase, which has been approved by the federal bankruptcy court supervising Hybrid's reorganization, is scheduled to close by the end of June.
