The National Assn. of Securities Dealers, the regulatory body for brokers trading over-the-counter stocks, selected Baltimore securities executive Joseph R. Hardiman as its new president.
Hardiman, 50, is the immediate past chairman of the NASD board. He succeeds Gordon S. Macklin Jr., who resigned after 17 years as NASD president to join a San Francisco brokerage. Hardiman's appointment is effective on Sept. 1.
