Omniplan Corp. of Santa Monica has completed a seven-year U. S. Small Business Administration program in which minority-owned small companies are chosen to provide work under government contracts, according to M. Hawley Smith, district director of the federal agency.
Omniplan, whose chief executive is Ralph Montijo, provides personnel supply services and management consulting to military bases.
Montijo started the company in 1971 with $10,000 and three employees. His company now generates more than $12.8 million in annual sales and has 37 employees, officials said.
The Small Business Administration's program began in 1968 and has supervised $15 billion in government contract work by more than 6,000 minority-owned companies, officials said.
