Police are looking for a burglar 40-50 years old who bound a woman and her 4-year-old son in their home and escaped with cash and jewelry.
Sherry Bullard, 42, arrived at her Sea Island Drive home about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday and was surprised in the kitchen by a burglar in a white stocking mask, police Officer Greg Armstrong said.
The robber pressed a revolver that he had found in the home into her side, police said, then bound Bullard and her son. He escaped with an estimated $96,000 worth of jewelry and cash, police said.
Bullard loosened her bindings enough to call 911. Police had to cut the woman and her son free. Both were unhurt.
The suspect was described as 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds. He had light brown hair and a mustache and was wearing blue jeans, a light blue sweat shirt and white tennis shoes.
