Kevin Robertson, who played at Newport Harbor High School and California, scored three goals for the second straight night, but it wasn't enough as West Germany defeated the United States, 12-7, at Stanford University Thursday to win the final of a five-game series.
The U.S. team won the series, 4-1.
West Germany led by 4-2 after one quarter, by 6-2 at the half and by 10-4 after three quarters.
Mike Evans of UC Irvine scored two goals for the U.S. team, and Greg Boyer and team captain Terry Schroeder each had one.
