The tender offer for Southland Corp. was amended. Thompson Co. amended its merger agreement to delete the condition that 1.3 million Southland Series A preferred shares be tendered. The offer for Southland was made by JT Acquisition Corp., an affiliate of Thompson Co., a private investment firm controlled by the founding family of Southland. Southland owns the 7-Eleven chain of convenience stores and 50% of Citgo Petroleum Corp.
