Charles Brown, West Los Angeles College dean of student and college relations, has been named to a three-year term on the California Assn. of Community Colleges Commission on Athletics. Brown, who oversees the WLAC athletic program, has been an administrator at the college for nine years. Before that, he served for nine years at Los Angeles City College as assistant to the president, business administration professor and football coach.

UCLA men and women track and field performers will compete in international competition this summer. Kevin Young will run the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and Danny Everett will be in the 1,600 relay at the Pan American Games, Aug. 9-16, in Indianapolis. Everett will also be in the 1,600 relay and Gail Devers in the 400 relay at the World Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Aug. 29-Sept. 6, in Rome, Italy.

Holes-in-one were scored at the Rancho Park Golf Course ninehole layout by K.C. Crain of Venice, Richard Holmes of West Los Angeles, Anita Timberlake of Culver City and Bertha Zeloner of Beverly Hills.

David Belfer shot a 33 for nine holes to win the A flight in the Penmar Men's Golf Club July tournament. Other flight winners and their gross scores: Leon Gross, B, 36; Steve Dragovich, C, 38; Don Rodeghiero, D, 43, and Henry Mochizuki, E (temporary handicaps),37.
