Native Priss Wins Hollypark Feature

July 23, 1987

Native Priss, ridden by Gary Stevens, led from the start and won the $22,000 feature race at Hollywood Park Wednesday by three-quarters of a length.

Little Red Cloud, ridden by Pat Valenzuela, finished second, 3 1/2 lengths in front of Time For Sakarto, ridden by Fernando Toro.

The 6-5 favorite, Penasco, ridden by Chris McCarron, finished fourth in a field of six horses, 3 years old and up.

Native Priss raced 6 1/2 furlongs over a fast track in 1:16 1/5 and earned $12,100 for the victory.

Sent off the 3-1 second choice, Native Priss paid $8, $5 and $2.80. Little Red Cloud returned $5 and $3, and Time For Sakarto paid $5.60.

Each of the first three finishers carried 118 pounds.
