MORNING REPORT

August 12, 1987| Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

Never fear, De Laurentiis Entertainment Group still plans to pony up the $1-million prize it offered in a promotional contest for "Million Dollar Mystery"--even though the picture flopped, grossing less than $1 million at the box office in June and ultimately costing Dino De Laurentiis' company about $6.5 million in the process. But no winners as yet. The contest (co-sponsored by Glad Bags) is open until Dec. 31, and HBO Home Video is planning a new promotional blitz when it puts the movie on cassettes this fall.
