Richard Ortwein has been chosen chairman of the American Red Cross, Orange County chapter.
Ortwein, president of Koll Co.'s Orange County division, recently headed the committee that produced a long-range plan for the chapter. He succeeds Howard Bland.
Other board officers picked for the 1987-88 term include Robert Conway, a partner at Peat Marwick; Bernice Hird, manager of community relations for Beatrice Inc.; Joseph Perricone of Perricone and McClintock Insurance Co., and Stuart Wallach, an attorney with Wallach, Urias, Candless & Scott.
Richard Kopel, secretary-treasurer at Case-Swayne Co. Inc., will continue as secretary of the board. Bruce Feuchter of the law firm Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth is the chapter's legal counsel.
