Cleanliness, It Could Be a Trend

August 15, 1987

I never thought I would be writing a letter to compliment the various baseball clubs about cleaning up their act while sitting in the dugouts.

Prior to this year, it was about all one could stand to watch the various managers and players spitting large amounts of brown tobacco juice while sitting in the dugout. It was nauseating and sickening, especially at dinner time.

Whoever is responsible for the most welcome change should be highly complimented. Now the cameraman can concentrate on finding some pretty girls in the stands during a conflict, instead of trying to read Lasorda's lips.
