2 Killed, 18 Injured in London Gas Blast

LONDON — At least two people were killed, 18 were injured and several others were trapped when a huge explosion tore apart two homes next to a busy street market in south London Friday, police said.

Firemen were combing through the rubble of two apartments which were devastated by what police said was a gas blast. Many of the injured were shoppers at an adjacent street market in the southern suburb of Balham.
