In Los Angeles on Wednesday, striking NBC employees smashed GE appliances with a sledgehammer in front of the Century Plaza Hotel during President Reagan's foreign policy address inside. The "GE bash" was intended to show the union's displeasure with NBC's parent company, General Electric, a spokesman said. Among the appliances destroyed: a refrigerator, a washer, a dryer and GE light bulbs. A Reagan blow-up doll watched from its mounted position on the back of a pickup truck.
