Cellist Nathaniel Rosen and violinist/violist Brian Dembow will be among guest artists appearing with UC Irvine faculty members in a five-program chamber music series beginning Oct. 17 in the Fine Arts Concert Hall on the UCI campus.
The first in the series of 8 p.m. performances will feature guests Dembow, violinist Yukiko Kamei, string bassist David Young and two faculty members, cellist Stephen Erdody and pianist Nina Scolnik.
The program will include Haydn's Trio in C, Hob. XV: 27; Brahms' Sonata for Cello and Piano in E minor, Op. 38, and Schubert's Quintet in A, "Trout," D. 667.
The series will continue:
--Nov. 22: Mezzo-soprano Nina Hinson, Dembow, French horn player Carole Drake and pianist Rosemary Hyler will play Brahms' Two Songs for Alto, Viola and Piano, Op. 91; Hindemith's Sonata, Op. 11, No. 4; Brahms' Trio in E-flat for Horn, Violin and Piano, Op. 40, and works by Turina and Falla.
