Pasadena : Director Won't Run Again

September 03, 1987

City Director Loretta Thompson-Glickman has announced that she will not run for a fourth term on the board in 1989.

Thompson-Glickman, who became the city's first black mayor in 1982, said pressure to spend more time with her family and on her job as a regional manager with the municipal bond underwriting firm of Grigsby, Brandford & Co., made her decide not to seek reelection.

She said she may resign from the board before 1989 if pressures from her family and job make continuing her political career impossible.

Thompson-Glickman, 42, has been on the board since 1977.
