Raider-Coliseum-Irwindale Controversy

September 05, 1987

I can't believe that I'm the only one who is not sorry to see the "Oakland" Raiders play somewhere else. Their arrival has done nothing if not screw up the television market. At least a 65,000 seat stadium will be easier to fill than one of 93,000.

So far as the Coliseum is concerned, everyone has been looking for landfill, and after that Haagen can build another shopping center on it.

"Oakland" is not a typo; they're still in Oakland so far as I'm concerned.
