"No Sex Please, We're British," the stage comedy that opened to a chorus of critical jeers 16 years ago, closed Saturday at London's Duchess Theater after its 6,761st performance. It collected $13.2 million at the box office. The farce opened June 3, 1971, recouping its initial investment of 12,000 (then about $29,000) in six weeks. Producer John Gale blamed the closing on a general malaise in the West End theater district.
