Torrance : Drain Plans Approved

September 10, 1987

The City Council approved plans for a $1-million storm drain project along Hawthorne Boulevard and 238th Street that is intended to alleviate street flows after heavy rains on Hawthorne Boulevard near Pacific Coast Highway and on Park Street.

The project will be built and paid for by the county Department of Public Works. Torrance had to approve the project design before bids could be opened. Construction is expected to take five months.
