A Redondo Beach police officer assigned to a special anti-drunk driver team was arrested as a drunk driving suspect after his car allegedly rear-ended another at an El Segundo traffic light. The rear-ended car then struck another vehicle waiting to make a left turn. Redondo Beach Police Chief Roger Moulton said Officer Steven Zent, 28, "was asked to take a little vacation time" from the Driving Under the Influence Team pending an investigation. El Segundo Police Chief Ray Lewis said Zent, who was slightly injured, was arrested about a half mile from the scene. Lewis said Zent would also be investigated for hit-and-run driving.
