Too Much Lip Brings Loss of Face for Mayor

September 13, 1987|Associated Press

BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — A factory director in Zavidovici bit off the lip of the town's mayor during a quarrel, the news agency Tanjug said Saturday.

The agency's report said Mayor Sretko Lazic was hospitalized after Golub Pejic, director of the Krivajina transport equipment plant, bit off his lip in a restaurant at Kamenica.

The news agency did not say what the quarrel was about, but said Lazic's policies provoked anger among many citizens.
