Technicians are erecting a three-story-high stage--one of the largest ever built--for the second extravagant production in Egypt this year of Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida"--this time to be held at the base of the Giza Pyramids. Organizers say they expect 25,000 opera buffs, mainly foreigners, for the eight performances Monday through Sept. 29 by Teatro Petruzzelli of Bari, Italy. In May, a $10-million production of "Aida" at the Luxor Temple was said to have lost $1 million.
