ELIZABETH, Colo. — Carbon monoxide leaked into a school bus Wednesday, and the driver and about two dozen of an estimated 40 children aboard were overcome by the fumes, authorities said.

The driver and an 11-year-old girl were in critical condition, a hospital spokesman said. Three other girls being treated at the hospital were in serious but stable condition, he said.
