Westwood : Group Backs Traffic Plan

September 17, 1987

The Los Angeles West Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Mayor Tom Bradley's traffic-improvement program, which would impose fees for trucks using freeways or surface streets during peak hours.

The plan would levy fines on truckers involved in accidents that tie up traffic and would prohibit curbside truck deliveries during rush hour.

The plan would amend the city's ride-sharing ordinance to include businesses with 200 or more employees and would encourage staggered work hours.
