I am writing this to protest what I feel to be inaccurate and extremely biased reporting on the part of Jim Murray on the tragedy in Munich. It occurred 15 years ago and was triggered by the policy of the Black September faction of the PLO to engage in a series of attacks, but Mr. Murray chose to evoke the memory of the Third Reich, using images of Storm Troopers and SS camps, damning a generation of German people that had nothing to do with the horrors of 1939-45.
Mr. Murray chose to slander the German police and the German people in his desire to impress an audience largely unfamiliar with the facts of the matter. This is not the first time I have found slanted, inaccurate reporting in the Times, but to find it in the sports section as well is too much.
