Indy-car driver Roberto Guerrero, who suffered head injuries in a Sept. 10 crash, is starting to regain consciousness, a spokesman at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis said.

The spokesman, Jon White, says Guerrero's condition has been upgraded from serious to good and that the hospital expects to transfer him out of the critical care unit by the end of the week.

Guerrero, 28, was injured when his car crashed into a wall on his last lap during tire testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
