The nation's basic money supply rose by $5.4 billion during the third week of September, the Federal Reserve Board reported. The Fed said M1 rose to a seasonally adjusted $755.8 billion in the week ended Sept. 21 from a revised $750.4 billion the previous week. The Fed originally estimated the previous week's total at $750.3 billion. M1 includes cash in circulation, deposits in checking accounts and non-bank travelers checks.
