Crackdown Cuts Burbank Accidents

October 10, 1987

A two-month radar crackdown on speeders along Buena Vista Avenue, one of Burbank's most dangerous streets, has cut accidents by 39%, authorities say.

Burbank Police Lt. Larry Koch said the increased visibility of patrols also contributed to the decrease in accidents.

Koch said there had been an average of nine accidents a month along Buena Vista before the program. Most of the accidents involved injuries, he said.

With the increased enforcement, accidents dropped to 11 during the two months, Koch said.
