Rene Fleming posted a 224-223 win over top-seeded Tish Johnson to take the Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour's $50,000 Hammer Eastern Open at Virginia Beach, Va.

Fleming, who said she was unaware of the score, converted two pins on a split on her final ball to earn her second career victory.

Betty Morris of Stockton, Calif., opened the finals with a 246-173 victory over Anne Marie Pike of La Habra. Susan Brede of Alexandria, Minn., then defeated Morris, 186-184. Fleming eliminated Morris, 223-214, to advance to the championship match.
