Rhetoric Heats Up Over Judge Bork

October 17, 1987

I praise Bork for not quitting. He is demonstrating that he is a man of principles, integrity and honesty. He is very well prepared for the job--a professor and respected judge. Some of his opponents--Sens. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) and Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.)--do not have the kind of background he has.

I hope that the Senate does not refuse his nomination. The Democratic majority in the Senate is surrendering this country not only to the liberals, but to the leftists.
