Center Roy Tarpley of the Dallas Mavericks revealed that he underwent treatment for cocaine and alcohol abuse last summer, and said a relapse in his treatment caused him to be late for an exhibition game Sunday.

Tarpley was fined $250 and benched after he arrived 11 minutes before a game against Boston in Dallas. The Mavericks are required to report at least 90 minutes before games.
