Cineplex Odeon Corp. has established a new division to create, produce and distribute television programs. The Toronto-based company, owner of more cinema screens than any other firm in North America, said the division's first project will be 41 new episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Toronto's Paragon Motion Pictures, which produced 13 episodes of the former NBC series last year, will produce the new episodes. The company also said the new division will have close ties with MCA-TV in Los Angeles, a leading TV-production studio.
