As frequent visitors to the San Francisco area, we were appalled by the treatment we received during our three-day stay during the National League playoffs just because we are St. Louis Cardinals fans.
We were not only abused verbally but physically, at the ballpark, the airport, at our hotel and just about everywhere else we went by the people who call themselves San Francisco Giant "fans."
These "fans" even went so far as to pelt us with food and other objects at the ballpark and from open windows as we were checking out of our hotel, just barely missing us and innocent bystanders, simply because we were wearing Cardinal red.
Here's hoping that in the future the Bay Area "fans" will attempt to show a little more class and sportsmanship while hosting similar events.
