Dodgers Reinstate Duncan and Matuszek

October 24, 1987

The Dodgers announced Friday that shortstop Mariano Duncan and utilityman Len Matuszek, who ended the season on the 60-day emergency disabled list with injuries, have been reinstated to the club's winter roster.

The Dodgers also bought the contract of catcher Gilberto Reyes from their Triple-A club in Albuquerque, N.M. The Dodgers sent outfielder Reggie Williams, relief pitcher Ron Davis and infielder Craig Shipley outright to Albuquerque.

The Dodger roster stands at 39 players. Any player with at least three seasons in the organization must be protected on a maximum 40-man roster or else be available to be claimed by another team in a winter draft.
