Race May Be in Bag But Work Is Cut Out

October 25, 1987

City Clerk Kathleen Midstokke has the easiest reelection campaign to run but will the busiest on election day.

Midstokke, 37, is unopposed for the part-time position, which pays $1,000 a month. This will be her second four-year term.

Not having an opponent "makes it a lot easier" on Nov. 3, said Midstokke, who will oversee the municipal elections in which voters will select two council members, a city treasurer and decide five ballot issues.

Midstokke is working on a paralegal degree at El Camino College, is divorced and has two children.
