Baby Paul, the youngest heart transplant patient, has been upgraded from serious to fair condition at Loma Linda University Medical Center. "He has a healthy, lusty cry and powerful lungs," hospital spokeswoman Anita Rockwell said Saturday. The infant has been removed from a respirator and all other life-support systems, she said. There is no evidence of infection or rejection and no significant setbacks. He is being monitored closely and his parents are now able to hold him. Oral feeding will begin next week.
