General Motors Acceptance Corp. filed a shelf offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission of up to $3,821,000 of medium term notes. When combined with securities remaining unsold from a previous offering, the filing gives the General Motors unit as much as $5 billion of securities available for sale. Proceeds will be added to the firm's general funds and will be available for purchase of receivables or repayment of debt, including refunding of up to $4.034 billion of similar noters maturing within one year.
