EARNINGS

October 28, 1987

Texaco's profit slid 33% to $108 million in the third quarter, partly because of a $122-million charge for unpaid interest resulting from its bankruptcy filing. The White Plains, N.Y.-based company said results from producing operations have improved, but these were offset by lower operating earnings. Revenue was up 23% to $9 billion for the quarter.
