Running back Eric Dickerson, unhappy with his contract, was placed on the Rams' inactive list for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, the club announced today.
"He won't be in uniform for Sunday's game because he is physically and mentally unable to play," Coach John Robinson said in a statement issued by the team. "He will be reinstated to the active roster when he is 100% physically and mentally ready to play and we are assured that he is ready to resume his role on our team. Presently, we are not contemplating any other action." Dickerson has asked the Rams to trade him, saying he is unhappy with his contract calling for a salary of $682,000 this year.
