A subsidiary of Waste Management Inc., Ohio Waste Systems, Inc., has accepted responsibility for a violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act by pleading guilty and agreeing to pay a $1-million fine to the federal government. The Oak Brook, Ill.-based firm said it had taken action to discipline the employees who six years ago violated company policy and may have violated federal antitrust laws. It said the infractions in the Toledo market were isolated cases. Waste Management has 450 other subsidiaries and divisions throughout the United States.
