Where's the market for home automation? Today it's clearly with yuppies. San Diego real estate guru Sanford Goodkin says their penchant for self-pampering, obsessive need to control their environments and high degree of technological comfort have combined to make them far more accepting of electronic household devices.
And Goodkin predicts that as the group slowly grays, it will find even more reasons to embrace home automation. "As people get older they pay more attention to safety, health and labor-saving devices," he says. "That will mean more automation for the home."
