Bridge experts Pete Benjamin and George Siegel, both of Los Angeles; Joe Fox of La Canada, Garey Hayden of Tucson and Mike Shuman of La Crescenta won the Swiss-style Team Championship Sunday night, ending the six-day annual Winter Regional Bridge Tournament at the Pasadena Civic Center.
Winners of the Knockout Team Championship, Flight A, were Richard Katz of Beverly Hills, Larry Cohen of Los Angeles, Kerri Shuman of Monrovia and Peter Weichsel of Encinitas. Flight B winners were Betty Wuliger and Betsy Rich, both of Los Angeles; Bryan Conley of Pacific Palisades and Myrna Blaufarb, Culver City.
Earlier in the tournament, Ann Kluewer and Ira Cohen, both of Reseda, won Flight A of the Super Open Pairs; Robert Linn of Anaheim and Gertrud McLachlin of Santa Ana won Flight B. In a repeat of the same championship on Saturday, winners of Flight A were Beverly Rosenberg and Stelios Touchtidis, both of Sherman Oaks; Sanjeev Tathak of San Gabriel and Luci Radulescu of Bell won Flight B.
In other events, Jim Backstrom of San Diego and John Mohan of New York won the Men's Pairs; Margaret Marguglio of Glendale and Doreen Nielson of North Hollywood, the Women's Pairs; Barbara Koch of Pasadena and Ruby Davis of San Marino, the Senior Citizens' Open Pairs; Jerry Levitz of Ventura and Jack Yeasley of Goleta, the Open Pairs; Lulu Minter of Glendora and Marie Dockery of San Gabriel, Mixed Pairs; Barb Goldfarb of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Bernie Lambert of Calgary, Canada, Master Pairs, Flight A; Dagmar and George Delianedis of Glendale, Master Pairs, Flight B; Florence Weinstein of Claremont and Leah Harris of Fontana, the Senior Citizens' Pairs, Flight A; and Paul Kahn and Monroe Gretske, both of San Diego, Senior Citizens' Pairs, Flight B.
