November 05, 1987|United Press International

SEVILLE, Spain — Titleholder Gary Kasparov and challenger Anatoly Karpov adjourned the ninth game of the 24-game world chess championship match at the 43rd move Wednesday .

Analysts said that Karpov, playing white, had a slight edge over the champion but that his advantage was probably too slim to give him a third victory when play resumes today.
