Billy Williams has told the Chicago Cubs he will not manage in the club's minor league system, the latest in a series of aftershocks rippling through the organization following the resignation of General Manager Dallas Green.

Green's resignation last week came after executives of the Tribune Co. vetoed his choice for manager--coach John Vukovich, who has no managing experience and whose selection prompted Williams' anger.

"I would never take the (Class AAA) Iowa job now," Williams said.
