# School-by-School Test Score Results for 3rd, 6th, 8th Grades : How to read the scores:

November 08, 1987

This is how to read results of the California Assessment Program tests:

Third, sixth and eighth grades: Schools are listed alphabetically by district. Test results are scaled between 100 and over 400. Scores from individual schools may be compared with district and state averages. For example, if the third grade at your school scored 254 in reading, but the district reading average is 229, children are scoring better than at other schools in the district. However, if the state average is 282, children at the local school would be scoring below the average of those at schools statewide.

Dashes indicate that tests were not given or that scores were unavailable.
