November 08, 1987|United Press International

BOSTON — Dr. Benjamin Spock, child-care expert and political activist, was released from the hospital Friday with a pacemaker installed to speed up a heart rate that may have caused a fainting spell, officials said.

Spock, 84, had been hospitalized a week ago after fainting in the lobby of the Copley Plaza Hotel.
