Charles Hill, 22, a member of driver Bill Elliott's crew who was injured in a crash on pit row during the Winston Western 500 NASCAR stock car race Sunday at Riverside Raceway, remained in stable but critical condition.

Hill underwent surgery to remove his spleen and repair minor tears in his liver at Riverside Community Hospital. He also suffered a broken right arm and a dislocated hip.
