Michael Brandman Associates, an environmental planning firm in Santa Ana, has been awarded a one-year, $500,000 contract by the U.S Navy's Western Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The contract calls for planning and environmental services for military housing and other Navy projects in the southwestern United States. In a separate announcement, the company named Richard Dean Friesen senior project manager in its resources management department. Friesen, who specializes in wildlife ecology, is an authority on the endangered Stephen's kangaroo rat.
