Miami-based Eastern Airlines refused comment on reports that more layoffs and deep cost-cutting measures are in store for the troubled carrier, but Eastern did say it has sold three more aircraft . . . Dublin, Calif.-based Lucky Stores Inc. has completed the transfer of assets of its Eagle Food Stores to a newly formed limited partnership controlled by Odyssey Partners . . . Warburg Pincus Capital Partners of New York boosted its stake in Hawthorne, Calif.-based Mattel to 18.3% . . . An investor group led by takeover artist Asher B. Edelman has extended its $65-a-share offer for Tulsa, Okla.-based Telex Corp. for the second time--through Nov. 20--as the company proceeded with preparations for a possible alternative recapitalization.
