Jack Nicklaus Jr. has failed in attempts to qualify for next year's European PGA tour. Nicklaus, 26, had a two-round total of 162, 18-over par and, missed the cut of 160 by two strokes on the El Saler course at the tour's pre-qualifying school near Valencia, Spain.

Nicklaus, who was trying for his qualifying card for the first time, can play in European PGA tournaments only if he receives an invitation from the sponsors.
